The Invest in ME Pre-Conference Dinner 2016
This event will be hosted by Invest in ME Research and will mark the eleventh international ME conference that the charity has organised.
The pre-conference dinner will include invited researchers, clinicians and ME patient group representatives from many different countries.
The evening includes a drinks reception, 3 course dinner and allows networking with a range of people responsible for ME research, treatment and patient support.
This is the charity's additonal feature to encourage international collaboration in research into ME.
In an earlier news item (click here) we announced that professional violinist Emanuela Buta would be playing for the pre-conference dinner guests.
We are now pleased to confirm that Ema will be accompanied by her husband, Carmine Lauri, another world-famous professional violinist.
Ema currently performs with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Oxford Philomusica and FeMusa Ensemble, and the charity is thrilled to have Ema and Carmine at the pre-conference dinner.
Ema was introduced to the charity by Norwegian advocate and mother of severely affected ME children - Kjersti Krisner.
Kjersti is an inspiration.
The first viedo that Invest in ME had on our website was the Norwegian TV report on Kjersti's son - Bjørnar - who is severely affected - http://www.investinme.org/Multimedia/Mediatelevision3.htm

Her story has also been mentioned before here - http://www.investinme.org/IIME-Newslet-1405-02.htm
The Norwegian film Sykt mørkt also featured Kjersti's family '
It is therefore our honour to welcome Kjersti to give the pre-conference dinner speech.
Kjersti has been working tirelessly for others in Norway - tackling the incomprehensible abuse that patients, especially youngsters, continue to experience.
Kjersti's presentation will deal with a variety of experiences and events about ME - entitled What I have learnt
